Write every day - December - Day #1

For this month, I'm going to be hosting out "Write Every Day" check-in. Thank you so much, navaan, for hosting in November!

What is this about?

I'm going to put up a post every day, where we can all talk about the writing we got done that day, or about the problems we ran into. It is a way to stay motivated, to track your writing progress and learn to keep writing a daily habit.

Anyone can join whenever they feel like it. It's okay not to check in every day. Just come in and talk about your writing or rant about how life keeps getting in the way. (*cough* Like how I sometimes do*cough*.)

Day 1!

I woke up today with the intention to make some progress on my Yuletide treat edit another fanfic. So of course, I ended up doing another thing entirely. I started a new fic instead. Ahem. Yeah.
Buut, It has been a while since I have been so excited to write something, so I am was still glad that I wrote. Fingers crossed that I don't get too distracted this month because I want to finish at least 2 or 3 things before I move on to something else.

Like you, I am avoiding the things I "should" be writing and am writing something fun. Well, I think it is fun. My idea of fun has a pretty limited audience.

Anyway, after some ruthless use of the delete key I still can't get Bucky's voice right, but I think it is getting a bit better.

Hey, it is fun if you enjoy writing it. And that's all that really matter at the end. :)

Good luck with getting his voice right! Sometimes it just takes a while to get used to writing a character, especially if you haven't done it before. *eyes the new fanfic.*

Heh yeah, but there is no excuse on this one. I've written bucky before. But not like this. Not where he is confronting one of his abusers. I've done stories during the hydra years where he interacts with his handlers. I've done post WS stories where he processes and broods. I have not done a post WS fic where he interacts with the hydra agents who worked with him. So. New territory.

Yay, for new fic! :)

I did make progress on editing and finishing this longfic finally and my artist sent me an amazing illustration to keep me motivated. (Worked!)

I do have the awesome beginnings of at least 4 fics in my head, enticing me to write them and now I'm a little afraid that I won't get to those words in my head in time, before they cool down.

I'm completely hopeless when it comes to stopping myself from starting a new fanfic. That's probably why I never finish anything. >.>

Yay for art and editing! I'd have suggested that you write a few lines of the basic idea of each fic, but you have a deadline and I can't have you getting distracted like me! :D And I'm honestly excited to read your fic, so go finish! Then write all the fics afterwards.

2077 words on a protofandom fic that's eaten my brain for the last week to bring it to its conclusion and 264 words on some 3 sentence ficathon prompts.

I have been challenged to write probably what will be 50k on a soulmark MCU AU instead of doing a fic advent. I think I might. I just need to figure out a starting scene and go have fun. Yay, writing as grief coping mechanism.

Around 400 words on what will hopefully be a Christmas fic for my OTP, and some editing on the next casefic chapter. I was terribly tired yesterday, but hopefully today I'll finish the neccessary edits so I can post it.

I really should get back to editing some of my old fanfics to post them. All I have been doing lately is writing first drafts and moving on to something else. New fic ideas are always so exciting, though.

Same here. I want to finish a lot of things before this year ends, so I definitely need to speed up my writing a little. But at least we are making progress! :)

I'm in! And trying a fresh start this month, since November was pretty much a total loss.

I wrote a little yesterday, trying to get back into the right headspace, and hopefully I'm on the right track this time. Fingers crossed!
