I had a long day and I couldn't really focus, so I didn't make a lot of progress.

In other news, is anyone signing up for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout for next year? I found out about it a couple of weeks ago and I am kind of excited. :)

Ooooh the getyourwordsout thing looks cool. I will try that out!

I editted the yuletide fic one more time! Maybe tomorrow I will post! This year is so much harder, I don't know why.

I keep telling myself that I will post my yuletide fic, then get anxious because what if it isn't good enough and then I go back to editing, so I know the feeling.

Did you sign up for GYWO?

Heh. Yah. I am feeling a bit odd about my fic, but the lovely person who beta'ed it said a bunch of nice things so...

Yeah, I signed up with GYWO. 150K. Seems like a LOT of words - ao3 tells me I posted around 90K but I think it is less than that because I have a couple WIP that spanned 2014 to 2015 and will span again into 2016. So, I am guessing its less. I am not sure what I've written that I didn't post, but... well. We'll see. It;s okay to not meet my goal, I guess. Around 100k seems reasonable.

I signed up for 150K too, which seems like a lot, maybe too much for me. I don't think I have actually written that much before but then again I haven't really started posting anything until these past few months so... We will see how it goes. Plus, I looked at the number of words I should write every month and 12.5K doesn't seem that bad. It is mostly my average for every month unless I am caught up in editing or I am participating in something like Camp NaNoWriMo.

100K seems really reasonable. In fact, I would more than glad if I reached that. I really hope GYWO just gives me the push to reach that.

I got a couple sentences written but super tired last night. Also starting a new job so that has me anxious.

I've been doing getyourwordsout the last few years and it's been very cool. I hope to see you guys over there.

That's cool! This is my first year. I hope that I can stick to my word count.

Good luck with your new job!

God, I'm so tired it's hard to concentrate in the evenings. I still wrote about a 1000 words. I finished one fic and then started the next. So happy I at least have outlines for everything. That makes it so much easier.

[livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout looks coold. Not sure I'm going to make a pledge though. I've surprised myself this year with long fic, so I'm inclined to give myself some leeway next year. :P

Same here. By the time everything is done, I just want to lay on the bed and not do anything else. But hey, 1k words despite all that is amazing! :)

I am trying to make myself write more and apparently I only do that under the pressure of a deadline or when I really really want to post something, so I figured that this might give an extra push, especially since I know that the next year is going to be busier for me than this one, so I definitely need something to constantly motivate me to write.

Yeah, deadlines work well for that. But I've noticed that not all deadlines do it for me. So a hard "you will disappoint people" deadline in an exchange works better than a "you will disappoint only yourself" deadline. Perhaps that explains the explosion of words this year.

Strangely since last year I've been insanely busy with a new job and not very quiet social life and for some reason I'm putting out more words than before. (Not than ever before I think. I might have been as prolific with drawer fic when I was a young teen and then just... stopped.)

I just barely managed an alibi sententence before I fell asleep, again.

& I hadn't heard about [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout, but it looks a bit similar to [community profile] inkingitout, which I've been doing for a few years now. Though it seems like GYWO has more activities, and its rules are more rigid? Hard to say from the outside, I suppose.

Oh, I haven't heard of inkingitout before, probably because I don't use DW as much as I used to. I will check it out.

[livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout is really only rigid when it comes to the check ins? You have to have some number of words by the March check in and you can't miss more than 3 check ins in a row, I think. You can ask to be excused from check ins. They have a twitter and tumblr and summary posts of what all gets posted there. They also have posts during the month for cheerleading and discussion and commiserating.

I like seeing the activity and such but it's a little more routine than inkingitout, which may not appeal to everyone.

800 words of Christmas fluff, and yet more of the endless editing, sigh.

Endless editing. Heh. Yeah. *says someone who has been actively avoiding it for two days now.*

A few paragraphs for me - I *have* to finish this draft soon, or else I'll be too stressed for my own good. :-/

I'll be writing my thesis for the next months, so I don't think I should commit to anything fannish. But the comm looks like a great idea!
