I always talk about how I would really like to get stuff done and finally finish up one of my WIPs but guess what? I started a new one yesterday. *facepalm*
I know, okay? I know. I honestly don't know why I did it. One moment I was outlining the next chapters for one of my WIPs, the next thing I know is that I clicked on "New Project" and started writing. But now I'm just glad that I did because it has been so long since I wrote anything and because I was excited about that new story, I finished up chapter one in one day, which is like a miracle, if you know how much of a slow writer I am.
I have never written a HP fic before so this is new to me. And it is also set in the Marauders era, focusing on Sirius and Regulus Black.
I will probably go back to my other WIPs soon, especially one since I'm particularly excited about what will happen next in it, but in the meantime I am just glad to be writing again.

In other news, I started learning Japanese! I think you can blame anime, manga, and all that stuff that really got me interested in Japanese. It is going really slowly since I am learning on my own, but there is Memrise which is helping and there is also a ton of resources on the internet, so I feel like I'm making progress.
I swear it is like I have a thing for unfinished stuff. I'm supposedly still studying French and Spanish but I have put Spanish on hold for now, so I can focus on the other two.

Just a small advice on finishing projects. Limit yourself to one or two projects and don't move on until that's finished. Between fanfic and original I currently have like 10 things going on, and I keep on wanting to start new ones, so of course I get none of them done ever. So I'm limiting myself to two things (I can't ever do one at a time I'll get super bored) and I will stick to them no matter. No new projects (or, in your current case, write this new one until you're done, and then go back to the old one).

Sorry for random comment but I read this entry just after I wrote my own declaration of finishing fic entry, so I kind of just went with the flow.
